We are searching for a Managing Director, a pivotal role for our client’s Non-Profit Organization in the Social Care & Welfare Sector, where your strategic leadership and operational expertise will directly impact their mission to serve the community. 

This is a Part-Time Position of 20 Hours per Week. An Assessment will be a part of this Search Process. 

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management (International Business; Management Economie en Recht (MER) or Organization, Governance & Management (OGM); or a similar field. 
  • Additional educational background in Social Work & Development is advantageous. 

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Management and Leadership position. Experience in a Non-Profit Organization is a plus.
  • Proven track record in Operations Management.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge and experience with Government Subsidy Regulations and Processes, especially for entities under the supervision of the Department of Social Affairs.

Responsibilities include

  1. Provide Strategic Leadership
    • Articulate and Execute the organization’s long-term vision and goals.
    • Collaborate with the Supervisory Board to develop strategic initiatives that guide the organization towards its strategic intent
  2. Oversee Organizational Management
    • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure programs and services are delivered effectively and efficiently.
    • Manage various aspects of the organization, including staffing, budgeting, and program implementation.
    • Delegate tasks to staff members while providing clear direction and guidance, outlining expectations and priorities aligned with organizational goals.
  3. Maintain Board Relations
    • As the Managing Director, you will play a crucial role in serving as a liaison between the Supervisory Board and the organization’s staff, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
    • Serve as a liaison between the Supervisory Board and the organization’s staff.
    • Provide regular updates to the board, seek input on critical decisions, and ensure that board directives are implemented effectively.
    • Support all board functions, facilitate meetings, and ensure policy compliance,
  4. Foster Strategic Partnerships and Engage the Community
    • Collaborate with other organizations, government agencies, and community stakeholders to leverage resources, maximize impact, and enhance efficiency.
    • By researching and assessing potential collaborators, identify potential partners who align with the organization’s mission and goals.
    • Negotiate agreements outlining each party’s roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
  5. Lead Advocacy and Public Relations Efforts
    • As the organization’s public face, you will have the opportunity to advocate for their mission and represent their interests to policymakers, the media, and the public, making a significant difference in the Aruban community.
    • Participate in advocacy campaigns, media interviews, and public speaking engagements to raise awareness of critical issues and advance the organization’s goals.
  6. Guide Financial Management
    • Work closely with the Supervisory Board to develop budgets, monitor expenses, and make financial decisions that support the organization’s mission.
    • Ensure awareness and compliance with regulations and requirements to ensure transparency and accountability.
  7. Ensure Legal and Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure the organization complies with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations, including tax laws, employment laws, and non-profit reporting requirements.
  8. Pioneer Innovation in the Organization
    • Embrace and lead innovative efforts to enhance the organization’s effectiveness and efficiency.
