Operations Manager - Tourism Sector

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations within the DMS Department. The role includes implementing departmental processes to ensure the successful execution of all program elements. This position demands a highly organized, efficient leader capable of managing complex operational functions and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and partner.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management: – Plan, direct, and coordinate operations to deliver high-quality destination management services. – Develop and implement operational policies and procedures. – Oversee the planning and execution of client itineraries and events.

Leadership and Development: – Lead, coach, and develop the operations team to foster a culture of continuous improvement and exceptional customer service. – Provide training to operations coordinators and meet & assist staff.

Relationship Management: – Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and hotel partners. – Develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with new customers. – Acts as a liaison between clients and Sales/DMS Management.

Crisis and Issue Resolution: – Manage and resolve operational issues or crises, ensuring minimal impact on client experiences. – Solve operational challenges during activity execution.

Logistical Coordination: – Responsible for scheduling, material preparation, and resource arrangement for all group functions. – Assists with site inspections, VIP transportation, and transfer requirements

Innovation and Resource Development: – Develops and maintains a supplier database. – Research new services, equipment, and entertainment for group functions. – Looks for new venues and opportunities for group activities.

Reporting and Compliance: – Prepare operational reports for senior management. – Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education: Min. HAVO. A degree in Hospitality or Tourism is a plus. – Experience: Minimum two years in an operational supervisory role. Experience in the Hospitality or Tourism is a plus. – Languages: Fluent in English. Proficiency in Spanish, Papiamento, and Dutch is advantageous.
 
Competencies: – Strong leadership and people management skills. – Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and crisis management skills. – Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships. – Flexibility with working hours, including weekends and holidays. – Intermediate computer skills.
