Warehouse & Purchasing Manager

For one of our clients in Aruba’s Food and Beverage industry, we’re looking for a Warehouse & Purchasing Manager.  This position requires a strong leader with experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, and purchasing. The ideal candidate will be skilled in team management, problem-solving, negotiation, and organization. 

Responsibilities Include

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Supervises and trains warehouse staff and drivers, ensuring they meet goals efficiently.
  • Develops and implements plans to improve productivity and minimize losses.
  • Recruits, hires, and trains new team members.
  • Schedules staff and assigns tasks to optimize workflow.
  • Monitors team performance and provides feedback for improvement.

Warehouse Operations:

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packaging, and shipping products.
  • Develop and implement warehouse systems for product handling, storage, and inventory management.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing safety protocols and regulations.
  • Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse through layout planning.
  • Schedule deliveries and ensure orders are fulfilled on time.
  • Manage logistics for product movement within the company.

Inventory Management and Purchasing:

  • Implement strategies to reduce costs, minimize waste, and improve inventory quality.
  • Manage inventory levels by conducting physical counts and maintaining accurate records.
  • Develop purchasing strategies and source the best supplies at competitive prices.
  • Negotiate contracts and build strong relationships with vendors.
  • Ensure all purchased items meet quality standards.
  • Oversee purchasing systems for smooth operation.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate maintenance and cleaning activities within the warehouse.
  • Ensure smooth delivery and production processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s working and thinking level required and a minimum of 3 years of demonstrable experience in a supervisory/leadership position. A bachelor’s degree is a plus. 
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
  • Display proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Showcase strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Possess exceptional planning and organizational aptitude.
  • Be self-driven and capable of working autonomously.
  • Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English and knowledgeable in Spanish, Dutch, and Papiamento.
